Looking for a rewarding role supporting children with profound and multiple learning disabilities?
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary setting in Bushey, working with pupils in Years 3-6 to help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This is a full-time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
- Support pupils with communication, sensory learning, personal care, and physical needs.
- Deliver engaging, personalised learning activities tailored to individual EHCP targets.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet each pupil's needs.
- Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous SEND experience (minimum 3 months).
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs, PMLD, or severe learning difficulties.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience working within a special school or specialist provision.
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience using alternative communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC.
