Are you a Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children and young people with SEND?

Envision Education is currently recruiting Level 2 Qualified SEND Teaching Assistants for schools in and around Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, with opportunities available in primary and secondary settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Teaching Assistant who wants to develop their career within education while making a positive difference to pupils with additional needs.

The Role

As a Level 2 Qualified SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with their learning, development, wellbeing and individual needs throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND

  • Supporting children and young people with needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social, emotional and behavioural needs

  • Helping pupils access lessons and participate fully in classroom activities

  • Supporting pupils with their EHCP targets and individual learning plans

  • Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills

  • Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils regulate their emotions

  • Using appropriate strategies to support pupils who may become dysregulated or distressed

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support pupils' development

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Adapting activities and providing appropriate support based on individual needs

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Monitoring and communicating pupils' progress and any concerns to relevant staff

  • Supporting pupils with their personal development and day‑to‑day routines where required

What We're Looking For

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

  • Previous experience working with children or young people

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is highly desirable or Carer role.

  • Knowledge or experience of supporting children with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties or behavioural needs is advantageous

  • A caring, patient and nurturing approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations

  • A proactive approach and the ability to use your initiative

  • Confidence working on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  • Ability to work effectively alongside teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

  • Reliable, professional and committed

  • Good spoken and written English

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

  • Specialists in securing long‑term and permanent placements for Teachers and support staff
