A welcoming and well-established primary school in Watford is looking to appoint a full-time Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This role involves providing 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Previous experience in a school or nursery setting would be beneficial; however, it is essential that applicants have some experience working with children in the UK. This position would suit a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting young learners during the early stages of their education.

The Role of the Early Years Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting engaging lessons using visual prompts, audio resources, and colour-based learning.
  • Helping children develop early learning skills, such as recognising the alphabet and identifying everyday objects.
  • Assisting the class teacher in maintaining safe, welcoming, and child-friendly classrooms and outdoor play areas.
  • Supporting communication with parents by sharing positive progress and helping identify ways to overcome early development challenges.

Requirements:

  • Either live in Watford or within a commutable distance
  • Have knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and experience in early years
