We are partnering with an independent and inclusive school that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SENCO to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a nurturing environment that focuses on personalised learning and supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
- Identify pupils with additional needs and ensure appropriate support strategies are implemented.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of interventions and support plans.
- Support staff in delivering inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
- Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND legislation and best practice guidance.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience supporting or teaching pupils with SEND.
- Strong knowledge of SEND practices and inclusive education.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
- QTS is preferred; however, unqualified candidates with substantial teaching experience will also be considered.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
