Job Description

Envision Education is currently recruiting for a

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a brand-new, purpose-built all-through specialist school in Hillingdon, West London . This is a full-time role, working

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm . We have immediate and September 2026 starts available , with trial days taking place now to secure your position.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive team from the very beginning, helping to shape an inspiring learning environment for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils' progress and achievement.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support the planning and delivery of lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Deliver interventions and targeted support programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals to support pupil development.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to Teaching Assistants where appropriate.
  • Follow safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety, and school policies at all times.

Requirements

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level.
  • A minimum of

6 months' UK experience working within a primary school or specialist educational setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND. Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
