We are currently seeking a dedicated Child Support Worker to join a specialist school in Hemel Hempstead. You will be supporting pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and pre-verbal communication needs. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD, including non-verbal children and wheelchair users
- Assist in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities that support development, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to help achieve the best possible outcomes for each pupil
- Support with personal care needs and administer medication where required
- Build positive, trusting relationships to help create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment
- Full-time availability (Mon–Fri, 8:30am–3:30pm)
- Confident supporting children or young adults with complex needs or PMLD
- Experience within SEND or care settings (references required)
- Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS
- Local to Hemel Hempstead or able to commute reliably
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach
