MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Technical authority for HCP4 (High Performance Computer 4) on BEV/PHEV electrical architectures, in depth technical knowledge and guidance, to support and ensure achievement of business objectives and technical development, delivering on time and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITY/TASKS AND CUSTOMERS
- Accountable for deliverables to a specified timeframe, quality and cost.
- Ability to demonstrate deliverables status at any time with Key Performance Indicators.
- PEP reporting tools
- Budget plans
- Component/SW/HW delivery plans for a given project
- Function delivery plans and supporting function maturity planning
- Manage workload on a daily basis and respond to both long term and short term task requests.
- Interfacing within EE and other areas of Engineering to ensure cross functional working to ensure consideration of systems engineering.
- Responsible for leading prompt concern resolution on existing systems/parts and processes, provide containment solutions when necessary.
- Manage any outsourced work in the same technical area, including supplier management where required.
- Manage specific budgetary requirements to meet KPI objectives.
Engineering
- Developing and maintaining specialist technical and business knowledge and capability, to ensure appropriate technical direction is provided.
- Propose process and method improvements to develop departmental capability.
- Ability to lead on technical direction/options working with other departments/engineers which interface with the Energy Management Systems team.
- Provide technical direction to other EESK feature owners in the team to support them in providing accurate information to other areas.
- Provide technical input into concepts for future development.
- Committed to own continuous professional development.
KEY COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate experience working in the Automotive Industry in ECU Delivery, customer facing systems and related parts/systems/sub-systems.
- Experience of the product development process from concept to production.
- Strong influencing skills and communication, with a commitment to building positive relationships with other functions and the team.
- Liaising with Group as an outward facing expert.
- Ability to share technical knowledge effectively with others, support and guide as appropriate to ensure deliverables can be met.
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement activities within the specific technology.
- Business awareness and ability to make and influence strategic decisions within the business context.
- Understanding and ability to demonstrate behaviours in line with the Bentley People Framework.
PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Has demonstrable knowledge applicable to the technology areas in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Understands business cycle planning and business case creation.
- A proven knowledge of Body Control systems and practical experience of development of such systems.
- Understanding and application of all required sign off legislative and environmental requirements.
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of Company problem solving tools and skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Preferably Chartered Engineer, or with a desire to achieve/currently working towards Chartered status.
- Proficiency in German language would be an advantage.
