Envisage is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in 1D CAE and Simulation to join our Vehicle Engineering & Architecture department. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex 1D models within a full-scale vehicle environment. This role requires a specialist who can bridge the gap between thermal, physical, and control systems to drive vehicle efficiency and system integration.
Responsibilities:
- Build, integrate, and maintain 1D CAE models within a full vehicle environment to support virtual development.
- Execute vehicle-level simulations and perform detailed technical analyses of thermal, physical, and control systems.
- Translate complex vehicle behaviors and efficiency metrics into high-quality technical presentations for a variety of stakeholders.
- Act as a lead on issue resolution activities, identifying bottlenecks and driving continuous improvement in modeling methodologies.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality simulation outputs.
- Develop new processes, tools, and methodologies to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with 1D simulation tools or model integration platforms (e.g., GT-Suite, Amesim, Simulink, or Synopsys Silver).
- Direct experience working with thermal systems, specifically within the automotive sector.
- Strong ability to visualize and communicate virtual analysis results while understanding the inherent limitations of virtual development.
- A broad understanding of complete vehicle systems and the interactions affecting energy flow and efficiency.
- A degree-level qualification in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of Low-Voltage (LV) automotive electrical systems.
- Experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, or Reduced-Order Modeling (ROM).
- Familiarity with Control System Architectures and their associated deployment risks.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.
