The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.
This role will be part of the PQ function and will provide support to the Lead Engineer. The grade reflects the experience and capability required of the individual.
- The primary role is supporting company projects in the design stages of the program, providing PQ direction for both Exterior and Interior Trim development.
- Additional support to be provided on request for part / assembly maturation process and root cause analysis support for production / design related concerns.
- Review and validation of system integration for Exterior and Interior themes.
- Lead the Development of PQ methods and processes for the company.
- Provide a good working knowledge of PQ benchmarking, current trends and execution on competitor vehicles.
- Supporting mentorship and knowledge transfer of PQ methods and processes.
Main Activities & Tasks:
- Will report to the Head of department (Lead PQ Engineer will manage daily activities).
- CAD operation skills required – The successful candidate will be able to create and manipulate geometry in Catia V5, for the communication and development of component interfaces to support Gap & Rad Plans. Expectation is that at least 50%-time utilisation will be supporting geometry generation.
- TCUA (Team Centre) PLM utilisation is desirable.
- Generation and development of the PQ activities for Ext & Int Trim.
- Support the Lead PQ Integration Engineer on complete vehicle activities.
- Generation and maintenance of the Gap & Rad Plans.
- Mentorship of engineering team in understanding and applying designs and engineering executions which achieve PQ targets.
- Lead digital reviews and sign-off events for PQ related activities for Interior systems.
- Development of Product Attribute Targets (PAT) based upon the Product Attribute PALS positioning for PQ.
- Develop scope of work with key deliverables identified.
- Identify PQ opportunities for process development and longer-term strategy.
- Provide PQ Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting of findings in support of Design conceptual theme development.
- Manage Optical Quality & Perceived Quality development & assessment activities.
- Work with PQ team globally to agree future joint standards, processes and guidelines.
