The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
As Head of Financial Reporting you will be responsible for producing accurate, consistent and efficient production of the group-wide financial reporting. The role reports directly to the Head of Finance as their number two and offers hybrid working. Whilst the role does not have budgetary responsibility, you will have responsibility for some direct reports within the finance team and be required to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This is considered a senior position within the finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent, efficient, accurate, compliant and timely production of group-wide financial reporting. This includes but is not limited to: Individual and consolidated Management Accounts with full Balance Sheet, Statutory accounts, VAT returns, Board Reports with variance analysis and Cash Flow Statements.
- Presentation of Business Reviews to individual business units on their performance and highlighting any areas of concern.
- Provide costing analysis around machine utilisation and labour hours.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Oversee the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts on a periodic basis liaising with individual business heads.
- Prepare the weekly stack chart report for distribution.
- Lead on weekly credit control.
Process Improvement and Cost Management:
- Champion, identify and implement process improvements within the Financial Reporting process, both from a control and efficiency perspective with a view to improving the current reporting timetable.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings across the group.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to support their professional development.
General:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including the operational teams, to ensure usability of the reports and add both context and meaning to the financial reports produced and attending internal meetings as and when required.
- Liaise directly with external stakeholders, including but not limited to external auditors, HMRC and the bank.
- Training of finance team, and provision of training when required to the wider organisation.
- Accurate and timely implementation of changes to regulation, including but not limited to: Changes in accounting standards and changes in HMRC legislation.
Technical/IT and Education Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent with minimum 3 years PQ experience.
- Experience of working within an engineering/manufacturing environment to understand costings and project WIP.
- High level of attention to detail and organisation.
- Current, detailed knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP and practical experience of group reporting (including consolidation), and application of IFRS 15 in a project-based environment.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid holder of a UK Drivers Licence with your own vehicle.
- Knowledge of Access Dimensions Accounting Software, Sequel Reporting and Crystal Reports desirable.
- Experience of working to SLAs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge, influence, negotiate and partner with multiple and varied stakeholder groups.
- Significant experience in process optimisation, and proactive in continued process improvements.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
