We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Systems Engineer to join a well-established and growing fire engineering business operating across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in fire alarms, emergency lighting, extinguishers, or suppression systems who is looking for a long-term role with strong earning potential, nationwide work, and genuine progression opportunities.
The Role
You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, repair, and occasional commissioning of a range of fire protection systems across commercial and industrial sites nationwide. The role will involve both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown work, with occasional overnight stays required.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintenance of fire protection systems
- Fault finding and reactive repairs
- Emergency lighting testing and maintenance
- Fire alarm servicing and commissioning
- Reactive call-outs and breakdown response
- Completing service reports and documentation
- Participating in the on-call rota
- Maintaining company vehicle, tools, and stock
- Delivering high levels of customer service on site
Experience Required
We are looking for engineers with experience in some or all of the following:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Emergency Lighting
- Fire Extinguishers
- Suppression Systems
- Electrical Fault Finding
- PPM & Reactive Maintenance
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years’ engineering experience
- Experience within fire systems or related electrical/mechanical industries
- Good fault-finding ability
- Understanding of BS5839-1
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel nationwide
Desirable Qualifications
- 18th Edition
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent
- FIA / EAL Fire Alarm qualifications
- IPAF
- Asbestos Awareness
