An opportunity to join an aerospace engineering business working on safety-critical systems across flight controls, actuation and battery management. You’ll take ownership of key safety assessments across the aircraft’s development lifecycle, from early hazard analysis through to certification support. Sitting close to the design and integration teams, you’ll help shape how safety is built into the product from the outset rather than bolted on afterwards. This is a role for someone who enjoys the technical depth of safety engineering and wants to see their work through to certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSAs) and System Safety Assessments (SSAs) for systems including Flight Controls, Actuation and Battery Management
  • Perform supporting analyses including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Common Mode Analysis (CMA), Particular Risk Assessments (PRA) and Zonal Safety Assessments (ZSA)
  • Develop the aircraft safety case in line with certification and operational requirements
  • Define safety requirements and ensure they’re captured, communicated and tracked with design and integration teams
  • Work across engineering disciplines to raise safety awareness
