Location: South Frankfurt

Salary: From €120,000-€140,000 + Bonus

Our client is a global leader in innovative, clean energy materials, operating internationally. You will work for a leading player in the lithium-ion battery chemical industry, dedicated to driving the green energy transition forward. You will be working alongside a passionate, supportive and diverse company working on new innovative products and emerging technologies. This is a unique opportunity to take on a leading role in the supply of raw materials in Europe. Positioned across the whole supply chain, you will be involved from cradle to grave and recycling. Future international leader opportunities available if desired.

The role:

  • Establish and maintain the company EHS management system by implementation & optimizations of corporate EHS directives.
  • Certification / Re-Certification of the company EHS management as to ISO 14.001 & ISO 45.001.
  • Establish and lead the site EHS Committee and ensure that EHS related decisions taken by this instance are implemented.
  • Start EHS incident reporting and investigations system for all company operations.
  • Audit the regulatory compliance of the company production operations by internal or external resources; track corrective action progress.
  • Establish the company yearly EHS KPI, monthly tracking of the development and year end evaluation.
  • Ensure that all requirements regarding health and safety as stipulated in the German regulations are adhered to by the staff.
  • Establish and maintain an Emergency plan for the company operations; establish EHS crisis management committee.
  • Represent the EHS interests versus local, national, EU authorities and industry associations.
  • Revise company operational permit applications concerning legal compliance and operability.
  • Coordinate national & EU regulatory requirements concerning hazardous chemicals regulations including major hazardous sit classifications (legislation 224/2015 Sb) and EU CLP & REACh directives.

Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in chemistry or similar.
  • 2-5 years in chemical industry in EHS capacity.
  • Good working knowledge of EU Regulations and frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written English.
  • Flexible to travel as required EU and internationally.

Desired:

  • Any other EU language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of waste management regulations.
