Derbyshire County Council is seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Technician with strong technical ability and an eye for detail for the Street Works and Temporary Traffic Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate temporary traffic management, road closures, and traffic signals.
- Approve abnormal load movements and ensure safe, minimal‑disruption operations on the highway.
- Assess and review proposed works, ensuring methods are safe and efficient.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and colleagues to enforce permit conditions and resolve highway conflicts.
- Operate the Highways Network Information Centre, monitor Pre‑emptive Traffic Management Systems, and make key decisions to reduce congestion during unplanned incidents.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and develop key collaborations.
