Are you an experienced transport planning professional ready to influence strategic policy and drive real change? Do you want to be part of a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team delivering sustainable transport solutions that support the local economy, and a healthier, and better-connected future? At Derbyshire County Council, we’re looking for a Senior Integrated Transport Officer to play a supporting role in shaping and delivering our local transport planning ambitions.
Key aspects of this role also include:
- Provide expert technical advice on transport policy and planning issues.
- Support the development and review of the Local Transport Plan and related investment strategies.
- Produce reports, assessments, and funding applications that inform and enable policy delivery.
- Evaluate the environmental, social, and economic impacts of transport proposals and help develop mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with the East Midlands Combined County Authority and other partners to support regional strategy development.
- Engage with stakeholders, elected members, and local communities, contributing to public consultations and strategic discussions.
- Supervise and support junior officers, technicians, and apprentices within the team.

What skills/experience will you need?
- Practical experience in areas such as transport policy, funding regimes, environmental assessment, or land use planning.
- A relevant technical qualification, or extensive equivalent experience.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and support others.
