Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Street Works Team, based out of County Hall, Northallerton, you will coordinate works within the highway and ensure permitting/noticing compliance with the relevant legislation and/or code of practice.
  • Process road closures on behalf of statutory undertakers to ensure safety whilst works take place for both the public and the undertaker, while considering the impact of disruption to the public.
  • Ensure requests for network information and correspondence are responded to within the agreed timescales.

What you will bring:

  • You will have an Engineering qualification or equivalent to ONC level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current highways legislation e.g., Highways Act, New Roads and Street Works Act, Traffic Management Act, and the Road Traffic Regulation Act.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of Traffic Signs Manual and the Code of Practice – ‘Safety at Street Works and Road Works’.
  • Experience in network co-ordination.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
