Your role

  • Receive work instructions, identify and analyse job requirements including labour, plant and materials.
  • Manage all phases of works activities on sites being delivered via internal or third-party construction teams.
  • Manage and supervise in-house Charge Hands and Operatives – taking care of day-to-day personnel, operational and welfare matters, ensuring all are competent for the duties performed.
  • Allocate works to gangs (in-house and subcontract) to ensure that all plant and materials are available to complete the tasks efficiently.
  • Liaise with the Depot Manager regarding fleet, plant and material resources, ensuring where required, all items are prepared in advance of the following day’s works.
  • Undertake regular site checks regarding safety and quality compliance and instigate remedial works.
  • Ensure all operations comply with current HSE legislation.

Your profile

  • Relevant qualifications and proven experience in operational delivery.
  • A track record of delivering minor civil engineering works and schemes to budget, deadline and quality requirements.
  • Proven technical skills, ability, and experience of delivering intended outcomes working with a variety of skilled staff.
  • Experience of manual work and plant equipment/machinery.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
