Your role
- Assist with the technical aspects required for project delivery including feasibility, concept design, detailed design and preparation of tender and contract documentation.
- Invite tenders and supervise construction works on site.
- Implement projects to meet the requirements of quality, health & safety, environmental standards and programme timescales, in accordance with national and corporate standards.
- Assist with preparing schemes for tender.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, applicable CDM Regulations and related legislation.
- Set and work to personal deadlines and targets to meet programme requirements and client needs.
Your profile
- A minimum Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Engineering or a design‑related subject (or currently working towards one).
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree or above in a design‑related subject or proven experience in the design, implementation and supervision of engineering projects.
- The ability to deal appropriately and effectively with external organisations, statutory bodies and clients.
- The ability to undertake feasibility studies, including preparing reports and cost estimates, investigating problems and identifying options.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British and European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.
- Initiative and ingenuity in solving engineering problems.
- Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, at general and technical levels.
- Working capability with Auto CAD software and a desire to enhance your skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
