Doncaster Sheffield Airport is preparing to relaunch and is seeking a Senior Air Traffic Services Assistant to join a new and exciting team that will help the airport open and grow. As part of the leadership team, you will support real‑time air traffic control operations while helping to manage and develop the ATS unit, maintaining safety‑critical standards and compliance.
About the Role
The Senior ATSA reports to the Head of Air Traffic Services and is accountable for the efficient management and training of ATSAs, maintaining standards, competence, and statutory regulatory compliance. The role also requires operational support across the ACS team and liaison with stakeholders including SARG and the CAA.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of ATSAs
- Coordinate with affected Airport Departments
- Facilitate Meteorological services, including inspections and competency compliance
- Act as Met examiner for all ATC personnel and manage meteorological information archive system
- Oversee ATSA and ATCO training, including initial validation and annual competency, and task allocation during absences
- Maintain and input information in Airport flight information software and systems, and represent the department in user groups and meetings
- Provide accurate daily and monthly ATC statistics to managers and contribute to corporate reports
- Perform all duties associated with ATSA responsibilities
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have recent experience as a Senior Air Traffic Services Assistant or equivalent Air Traffic Services Assistant experience. A passion for aviation, strong communication skills, and the ability to make decisions and multitask in a demanding environment are essential.
