Overview
In this role you support the Wilder Landscapes Team to scale pond restorations and creations across Suffolk, helping to restore 500 ponds by 2030.
You will engage farmers and landowners, aligning practical pond action with our nature recovery mission.
You’ll lead and coordinate pond surveys and habitat management, while inspiring others to participate in conservation efforts.
This is a hands-on, impact-driven role at the heart of Suffolk’s wildlife recovery, offering meaningful collaboration with local communities and partners.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of pond restorations and creations across the landscape
- Contribute to the target of restoring 500 ponds by 2030
- Engage and influence farmers, landowners, partners and stakeholders to take action for nature
- Create or restore ponds and advise on associated habitat management
- Line manage seasonal e DNA surveyors and volunteers during April–June
- Work as part of the Wilder Landscapes Team and report to the Senior Farm Adviser
- Build productive relationships to deliver conservation outcomes
- Key requirements
- strong understanding of pond wildlife, pond restoration and habitat management
- confident and credible communicator
- ability to build relationships with farmers, landowners, partners and stakeholders
- self-motivated, organised, able to work independently
- passionate about nature recovery and community engagement
- experience in coordinating surveying activities (e DNA) is desirable
