Overview
In this role you will design and implement a strategic data management system to support evidence-based decision-making for nature recovery at scale. You will enable research projects, harness mobile data, AI, automation and remote sensing to demonstrate impact. You’ll help shape NWT’s strategy by defining data baselines and indicators and ensure data, people and technology work together to improve reporting and insights. You will link with federation-wide learning and embed practical changes across teams to maximise value from data and evidence.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic data management system to support evidence collection, storage, and analysis.
- Support design and delivery of research-related projects and their data needs.
- Optimise adoption of emerging technologies (mobile data collection, AI, automation, remote sensing) to enhance data quality and usability.
- Define evidence requirements, baselines, and indicators to measure progress and inform future priorities.
- Facilitate alignment of people, processes and technology through robust data governance and workflows.
- Collaborate with teams to map information workflows, identify gaps/duplications, and improve systems and standards.
- Act as a local link to federation-wide learning on data standards, shared systems and responsible innovation.
- Support colleagues to boost confidence in managing data and digital tools, turning data into actionable insights and improving reporting quality.
