Our Climate, Sustainability and Transactions team delivers ESG due diligence services for buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, identifying ESG risks, liabilities, and value creation opportunities from both financial and reputational perspectives for private market investors, portfolio companies, and corporate clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct large, global projects, ensuring client satisfaction and profitable delivery.
  • Provide expert guidance on strategic ESG matters leveraging ERM’s global pool of subject matter experts.
  • Apply understanding of macro sustainability/ESG topics as they relate to the real economy and investment community, including topics such as ESG governance, climate strategy and decarbonization, social (human rights), and EU Green Deal, and relate these to transaction considerations.
  • Understand how ESG due diligence findings are used by clients and interact with other workstreams (e. g., financial, legal, and commercial due diligence, investment banks).
  • Identify and manage commercial and operational risks from conception through project delivery.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communications and engagement, deliver high‑quality outputs, translate complex technical topics into commercial opinions, and identify opportunities to create or maintain value.
  • Private markets experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in ESG due diligence and advisory within the context of transactions; ability to lead projects and contribute to multiple workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of ESG topics relevant to the real economy and investment community, including governance, climate strategy, decarbonization, social issues, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks and to translate findings into actionable recommendations for clients.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly to clients.
  • Private markets experience is helpful but not mandatory; willingness to support on delivering projects in varying roles.
