In this new role we are seeking an experienced, confident HR professional to provide both strategic and operational leadership of the EIA HR function through a period of growth and transition.

As a member of the Senior Management team, the Head of HR will contribute towards organisation-wide decision‐making and will ensure that the people strategy underpins EIA's mission and long-term goals. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Head of HR will use their initiative to develop and manage the HR function, providing expert advice on organisational change and transformation through people-focused initiatives.

The role will require a combination of strategic planning, operational delivery, and advisory skills to support change, foster a positive culture, and ensure compliance with UK employment law and best practice. The Head of HR will line‐manage the HR Officer and oversee high‐quality, responsive HR services across the charity.

About you

  • You will have significant senior HR leadership experience, and be CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience), with a strong, up to date knowledge of UK employment law and HR governance at a strategic level.
  • Ideally you will have experience working within a charity, NGO or campaigning sector.
  • You will have proven ability to operate effectively as part of a Senior Management Team, contributing to organisation-wide decision-making beyond the HR remit.
  • You will have strong influencing and relationship‐building skills, with credibility at senior levels.
  • You will have a proven ability as a self-sufficient HR leader.
  • You will have experience of working with international employment arrangements, including Employer of Record models, ideally with experience of international employment law or cross‐border HR practices.

What we offer

  • Location: Hybrid Working possible between offices in London Islington and home.
  • Hours: 24‐32 hours per week, with the exact hours and working pattern to be agreed.
  • Salary: ÂŁ55,000‐£60,000 per annum depending on experience (pro rata to working hours).
  • Contract Type: Permanent.
  • Holiday: Annual leave package of 25 days annual leave (+ days off between Xmas and New Year) + Bank Holidays + day off on your birthday, with an additional day per year up to a max of 29 days (pro rata).
  • Benefits: 4‐8% pension contribution, Mental health and wellbeing support programme.
