About the role
As a Habitat delivery specialist in the Habitat creation and management team, you will be responsible for delivering habitat creation and enhancement projects safely, on-time and to budget. This is an exciting role for a forward-thinking applied ecologist/conservationist with the practical skills of creating and managing habitats, where you would work closely with our ecologists and land managers to plan and deliver habitat creation works across your region. Works would include creation and enhancement of a range of habitats including woodland and scrub, species rich grassland, wetland, and associated infrastructure works. You would then continue to be involved across our national nature network, managing the success of the habitat banks as they develop.
We are looking for someone based in the Midlands - anywhere from Oxford to Bedford, as far down as Surrey and Kent also.
- Reviewing ecology design for successful implementation
- Writing or reviewing the management section of the Habitat Management Plan and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan
- Providing activity schedules to the project manager to build into the programme
- Writing the specification for key materials for the habitat bank for the project manager to procure against (e.g. seed requirements, fencing requirements etc.)
- Meeting contractors on site and setting to work and managing contractor KPIs
- Reviewing Construction Phase Plan or equivalent (including Incident Response Plan), reviewing delivery methodology and providing input to the project risk register
