About the role
The BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) Sales Senior Key Account Manager will be responsible for owning and growing a portfolio of strategic accounts, converting inquiries for offsite BNG units into successful sales while delivering exceptional customer service. The individual will lead complex, high-value opportunities, shape long-term client relationships whilst work closely with internal and external stakeholders, using their industry knowledge and insights to drive BNG sales. The role requires a highly proactive, target-driven individual who can manage and forecast their own revenue performance sales pipeline and represent the company with professionalism and credibility in the marketplace.
Duties
- Sales Conversion & Client Engagement: Convert inquiries into sales efficiently while ensuring excellent customer service. Own and grow a portfolio of high-value and strategic accounts, driving long-term revenue. Identify high-potential clients whose demand for BNG units could lead to long-term strategic partnerships, maximizing future sales opportunities. Build deep relationships with key clients to ensure that Environment Bank are their go-to partner when it comes to anything BNG related. Develop a comprehensive understanding of how developers operate across various sectors, including residential, commercial, utilities, and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).
- Internal Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Share key insights and feedback gathered during client interactions with relevant internal teams and stakeholders to support continuous business development and improvement.
- Revenue Ownership & Reporting: Own and deliver on individual revenue targets, providing regular high-quality qualitative and quantitative updates to the business. Take responsibility for forecasting performance and ensuring that all data regarding deals is up to date in the CRM system.
- Strategic Sales Approach: Apply market intelligence and commercial acumen to structure deals that support the performance of our habitat banks and ensure they align with business goals. Lead on complex, high-value deal structuring, balancing client needs, habitat bank performance, and commercial returns.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including business development, partnerships, sales analysts, strategic sales, and portfolio managers, to align efforts and achieve shared objectives.
- Brand Representation & Client Interaction: Represent the company with key clients through various communication channels (email, phone, in-person meetings, and events).
- CRM & Data Management: Ensure all data related to sales and deals is accurately recorded and maintained in the CRM system to support sales operations and overall business planning.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a sales or senior account management role, preferably within the biodiversity, built environment, environmental services, or a related sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-value, complex deals and strategic client relationships.
- Results driven with an impressive track record of exceeding sales targets and excelling amongst peers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and manage client relationships with a large number of accounts.
- Experience working with CRM systems and strong data management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different teams within the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
