Overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team of Geomatics Analysts. You will join a small team processing survey data to support delivery of our National Elevation Data Programme. You will use specialist software and GIS to process and quality‑control data from our state‑of‑the‑art Remote Sensing survey instrumentation, including our Airborne LIDAR Terrain Mapper.
Responsibilities
- Process and quality‑control LIDAR and derived Digital Elevation Models.
- Apply remote sensing techniques, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Communicate effectively and work unsupervised to meet challenging deadlines.
- Travel to the Geomatics hub base in Bath when required and attend EA offices as part of team charter.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant degree in Geography, GIS, Environment or equivalent scientific discipline.
- Practical experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap and large complex mapping datasets, preferably Airborne LIDAR.
- Experience processing and quality‑controlling LIDAR datasets and DEMs is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills, highly motivated, professional attitude, and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to work unsupervised.

Working Patterns & Location
The post is full‑time with a 17‑month contract, up to March 2027. The National Monitoring Survey team is a national team based at various sites. You can be based anywhere close to an EA office but you will be expected to travel to the Bath hub base and attend EA offices as needed.
