An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Brampton/Ely based Hydrometry & Telemetry Team as a Hydrometric Officer. This is a dynamic, predominantly field-based role with occasional office-based responsibilities. You\’ll be working outdoors throughout the year, including in challenging weather conditions, so resilience and adaptability are key. Operating across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, and parts of Norfolk, you\’ll be responsible for collecting, validating, and delivering high-quality scientific data on rainfall, river flows and levels, and groundwater. This vital information supports both internal teams and external stakeholders in making informed environmental decisions.
You will be responsible for:
- Collecting hydrometric data from numerous sites across the area
- Conducting flow gauging at sites to support data validation and incident response
- Reporting on asset conditions, identifying issues that may affect data quality
- Undertaking fieldwork and travelling to local offices and national meetings as required
You will also be expected to develop and maintain strong working relationships with other team members and support them to achieve team objectives.
