We are seeking a motivated and reliable Solar O&M Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing solar power systems on-site. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to respond to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You will be provided with training and guidance to progress your professional development. This role will be site based, so will likely involve working away from home Monday to Friday, as our sites are nationwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Compliance with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Diagnose and repair faults within solar PV systems, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance as per the site maintenance schedules.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests to address equipment failure and minimise site downtime.
- Compile detailed reports on maintenance activities, repairs, and troubleshooting results.
- Ensure that all equipment on site is running efficiently and safely, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV systems.
- Conduct scheduled monthly inspections and ensure a safe working environment.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
- A strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Hands-on experience with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems.
- Experience using diagnostic tools.
- Strong understanding of solar PV technology.
- Adherence to all electrical safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to quickly identify and diagnose system faults.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- The ability to work in the UK.
- A City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, Installation, Testing & Inspection or similar, electrical course, 2391 is desirable.
- 18th edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification.
