About Enviroliance

Enviroliance is an established, privately owned specialist water hygiene, Legionella compliance and building services company, operating across the UK since 2004.

We work with clients across a wide range of commercial and public-sector environments, providing practical compliance support, planned monitoring programmes, sampling, remedial works and specialist water hygiene services.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Water Hygiene Technician to join our Scotland-based team.

The Role

This is a practical, site-based role carrying out planned water hygiene and Legionella control services at client premises.

You will primarily work across Scotland, although occasional UK-wide travel, overnight stays and out-of-hours/weekend work may be required depending on client requirements.

The role involves working independently for much of the time, so we are looking for someone who is organised, dependable, comfortable dealing directly with clients and capable of maintaining a consistently high standard of work and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out hot and cold water temperature monitoring and other routine water-system monitoring in accordance with relevant guidance, including ACOP L8, HSG274, HTM 04-01 and SHTM 04-01.
  • Undertake Legionella and microbiological water sampling, ensuring samples are correctly taken, labelled, recorded and handled.
  • Carry out inspection, cleaning and disinfection of cold-water storage tanks.
  • Carry out showerhead and hose cleaning, descaling and disinfection.
  • Undertake TMV inspection, servicing and routine maintenance.
  • Carry out flushing, outlet inspections and other planned water hygiene tasks.
  • Inspect water-system components and identify defects, non-compliances or remedial requirements for escalation.
  • Complete electronic job records, monitoring sheets, service reports and other compliance documentation accurately and on time.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and site representatives and communicate any significant findings or concerns.
  • Work safely in plant rooms, tank areas and other restricted-access locations and use ladders/access equipment where required.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance programmes and other water hygiene works as required.
  • Maintain company equipment, sampling equipment and vehicle to an appropriate standard.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous practical experience within water hygiene, Legionella control or a closely related field.
  • Experience of temperature monitoring, water sampling and routine water hygiene servicing.
  • A working understanding of ACOP L8 and HSG274.
  • Good practical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing compliance records and reports.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach when working on client sites.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively without constant supervision.
  • A positive approach to health and safety and following site procedures.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to satisfy the requirements of the Company's motor insurance.

Experience of TMV servicing, CWST cleaning and disinfection, showerhead cleaning/disinfection and Legionella sampling would be particularly advantageous.

Relevant industry training or water hygiene qualifications are desirable, although additional training will be provided where required.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Company mobile phone and laptop/equipment as required for the role.
  • 30 days' annual holiday entitlement, inclusive of recognised public holidays.
  • Ongoing technical training and professional development.
  • Opportunities to develop within a growing specialist business.
  • Varied work across a broad client portfolio.
  • Support from an experienced technical and management team.

Working Hours

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of our client work, reasonable flexibility is required for early starts, occasional overnight stays, overtime and occasional weekend/out-of-hours work.

Enviroliance is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates from all backgrounds.
