Who are we?

Envirofield is an expert independent contract field trials company, specialising in agricultural and environmental research across the UK. We are one of the UK’s leading soil sampling companies, offering Soil Mineral Nitrogen sampling nationwide alongside a range of other agricultural services.

Reporting directly to the Regional Trials Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of carrying out field trials – from site selection and product preparation to drilling and harvesting.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality trials across various crops and trial types, following ORETO standards and protocols.
  • Lead or support site selection, drilling, spraying, data collection, and harvesting.
  • Conduct assessments including plant counts, pest/disease identification, and crop health monitoring.
  • Operate and maintain trial equipment (e.g. plot combines, sprayers), manage inputs and sample logistics, and support fleet compliance.
  • Oversee soil and environmental sampling, including SMN testing and porous pot installations.
  • Ensure accurate data capture, report updates, and safe working practices.
  • Mentor junior staff and help maintain high technical standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven significant experience in field trials, ideally including official trials (e.g. AHDB, BSPB).
  • Practical mindset with confidence using agricultural machinery.
  • Strong observation skills for assessing crop health and trial performance.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions and carry out physical tasks.
  • Clear communicator with good attention to detail and organisation.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to rural sites outside of Woodstock.
  • A HGV licence, or a willingness to undergo HGV training and obtain a HGV licence (through Envirofield).
  • PA1/PA2 and BASIS/FACTS certificates are desirable but not essential.
