The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and directing the activities of maintenance employees in the repair and preventive maintenance of all mobile and fixed equipment. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that all maintenance is performed in a safe and technically correct manner.
- Maintaining a mixed fleet of equipment capable to serve the customers' changing needs.
- Providing leadership and direction to the internal maintenance team, external vendors and suppliers to ensure that work is completed efficiently and in line with the Mills schedules.
- Providing technical guidance for both corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
- Ensuring the correct tools and resources are available for the maintenance team.
- Management of short and long term maintenance planning, and completion of planned activities efficiently within budget.
- Significant technical input and creation of scope of work for major repairs.
- Assisting maintenance workers and sub-contractors in performing diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Providing guidance and training to members of the maintenance crew.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A strong organized communicator, willing to work a rotating schedule, weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment.
- Participating in safety, quality and environmental programs by conducting observations, audits and meetings.
- Carrying out duties with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience of Heavy Mobile Equipment, Static Processing Plant, Locomotive and/or Gantry Cranes and/or
- 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a fast-paced customer oriented service support environment and/or
- 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a Steel Mill, quarry, mining, rolling stock, major construction or material processing environment and/or
- Sound mechanical knowledge of the following types of equipment: Medium and Large Wheel Loaders, Scraper Tractors, Diesel Locomotive, Gantry Crane, Material Processing plants would be beneficial.
