What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing projects, programmes of work and client relationships
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
  • Providing expert advice on groundwater management, including abstraction licensing, pollution control and monitoring
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities

What we’re looking for:

  • Be at the start of your career and hold an MSc (or be working towards one) in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geology or a related subject
  • Have 2–3+ years’ experience with consultancy or relevant industry experience
  • Be a Senior/Principal level professional with strong technical, commercial and leadership qualities
  • A positive, self‑starting attitude with a real interest in learning and development
  • A pragmatic, hands‑on approach to solving technical challenges
  • A desire to get stuck in quickly and apply expertise in a pragmatic way
  • A passion for building great relationships with colleagues and clients alike
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Confidence using GIS and the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience of UK water resources, hydrology or hydrogeology and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data and communicate it clearly
  • A proactive, flexible and self‑starting approach
  • Strong teamwork and relationship‑building skills
  • A full UK driving licence

At senior/principal levels, experience with project management, mentoring, client development and commercial awareness is valued.

Salary and benefits:

  • Competitive salary, depending on role and experience
  • Permanent, full‑time contract (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
  • Hybrid working with flexible start and finish times and family‑friendly arrangements
  • Performance‑based individual bonus scheme
  • 35 day’s annual leave including bank holidays and an annual leave purchase scheme
  • Private medical insurance, including dental and optical benefits
  • Discounted gym memberships
  • Income protection and life cover
  • Cycle to work and electric vehicle schemes
  • Volunteering opportunities and team away days
