The EVSE Technician is responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across sites in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who can work independently while delivering high-quality technical support on-site. The successful candidate will ensure EV charging stations operate efficiently, safely, and in line with company and client standards. The role involves working across a variety of environments, including outdoor locations and confined spaces, with travel and overnight stays required.

Requirements

  • Essential Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair
  • Experience working in SLA-driven environments
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex faults
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics
  • EV charging certifications or manufacturer-specific training
  • Experience working with Rapid DC, Ultra, or HPC chargers
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals
  • Understanding of analogue and digital electronics
  • Strong awareness of site health & safety requirements
