The EVSE Technician is responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across sites in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who can work independently while delivering high-quality technical support on-site. The successful candidate will ensure EV charging stations operate efficiently, safely, and in line with company and client standards. The role involves working across a variety of environments, including outdoor locations and confined spaces, with travel and overnight stays required.
Requirements
- Essential Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent)
- 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair
- Experience working in SLA-driven environments
- Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex faults
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics
- EV charging certifications or manufacturer-specific training
- Experience working with Rapid DC, Ultra, or HPC chargers
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals
- Understanding of analogue and digital electronics
- Strong awareness of site health & safety requirements
