We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Roofing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to analyse project specifications and drawings effectively.
Duties
- Manage the incoming tenders into the business.
- Complete site surveys and inspections to complete tender packages.
- Tender / Bid Writing: produce / complete quality & social value documents for submission.
- Price both company generated enquiries as well as incoming tenders.
- Prioritise with the Sales & Estimating teams.
- Work to agreed objectives as set out in the company business / sales plan.
- Submit tender submissions at agreed margins with the timescales set out within the tender documents.
- Produce a weekly report to include value, %, market, material of submissions including ongoing conversion rates to the MD.
- Effectively communicate if enquiries cannot be priced both the client & with company Management team.
- Work to agreed sales objective.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
