We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Roofing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to analyse project specifications and drawings effectively.

Duties

  • Manage the incoming tenders into the business.
  • Complete site surveys and inspections to complete tender packages.
  • Tender / Bid Writing: produce / complete quality & social value documents for submission.
  • Price both company generated enquiries as well as incoming tenders.
  • Prioritise with the Sales & Estimating teams.
  • Work to agreed objectives as set out in the company business / sales plan.
  • Submit tender submissions at agreed margins with the timescales set out within the tender documents.
  • Produce a weekly report to include value, %, market, material of submissions including ongoing conversion rates to the MD.
  • Effectively communicate if enquiries cannot be priced both the client & with company Management team.
  • Work to agreed sales objective.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
