Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: Grade 7 £45,207 per annum

About the role: This is a key operational management role responsible for planning, delivering, and continuously improving high-profile environmental services across Blackpool. The successful candidate will lead operational teams, manage service performance, oversee budgets, support business growth and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The role also includes responsibility for related operational areas, including Emergency Maintenance Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of Grounds Maintenance, Parks and Green Open Space services
  • Manage day-to-day operational teams and supervisors
  • Identify and implement service efficiencies to improve value for money and service quality
  • Manage services within agreed budgets, including income generation
  • Negotiate contracts with new and existing clients to support business growth
  • Monitor service performance and ensure operational targets are achieved
  • Produce regular reports on business operations and performance
  • Manage health and safety across the service, including risk assessments, training, safe systems of work and accident investigations
  • Support recruitment, supervision, performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Contribute to company-wide improvement projects, business plans, policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Waste Services, Street Cleansing, CVMU and HWRC
  • Represent Grounds Maintenance, Parks and Green Open Space Services on the company’s health and safety group
  • Support company marketing activity, including contributions to social media campaigns
  • Act as an ambassador for Enveco and the services it provides
  • Manage Winter Gritting and Emergency Operational Response in line with agreed procedures

About You:

We are looking for a confident and experienced operational manager with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities and a clear commitment to delivering high-quality public services. You should have:

  • A professional horticultural qualification to HND or a willingness to work towards Industry-based membership, such as IOG, BIGGA, RHS or the Arboricultural Association
  • IOSH Certificate in Health
