About the role

We are looking to appoint a Bulky Waste Collection Service Driver/Crew member to safely drive collection vehicles and work as part of a team collecting bulky household waste from residential properties.

  • Operatives Duties
  • Drive and operate bulky waste collection vehicles safely and in accordance with road traffic laws and company policies.
  • Collect bulky household waste, including furniture, appliances, mattresses, and other large items, following scheduled collection routes.
  • Load and unload heavy items manually or using lifting equipment where appropriate.
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
  • Ensure waste is transported and disposed of at approved recycling or waste disposal facilities.
  • Complete collection records, route documentation, and any required electronic reporting accurately.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with residents.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Keep vehicles clean, secure, and in good working condition.
  • Assist team members with lifting and collection duties when required.
  • Report missed collections, hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly to the supervisor.

About you

  • Valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle (e. g. Category C/C1, as required).
  • Driver CPC qualification where applicable.
  • Good understanding of road safety and vehicle operation.
  • Ability to carry out physically demanding work, including lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
