As a Consultant Ecologist at Envance, you will lead the delivery of ecology projects from inception to completion and support the development of junior ecologists.

Role Details

  • The position is permanent and offers options for remote, hybrid, and flexible working.
  • Full-time or part-time applicants are welcome.
  • Projects are located throughout the country, with a head office in Stockport and regional workspaces in London, Derbyshire, and on the east coast of England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, resourcing, and delivering ecological surveys
  • Producing fee proposals and tenders
  • Producing written reports including PEA, BNG, EcIAs
  • Engaging with clients and sub-contractors
  • Quality assurance of others’ written work
  • Mentoring and training junior ecologists

Qualifications

  • Self-starter with initiative and professional development mindset
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience in ecological impact assessment, PEA, BNG and managing survey programmes
  • Working towards a protected species licence and/or a specific area of ecological expertise
  • Experience or desire to lead survey teams and/or mentor early career ecologists
  • Willingness to participate in tendering and preparing fee proposals
  • A relevant degree and applied professional experience
  • Associate or full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or appetite to achieve this
  • GIS software skills in ArcGIS or QGIS
  • Full UK driving licence
