This is a remote position. As an Assistant Ecologist at Envance you will be an integral part driving positive change within the clients and projects we support.

The Role: As an Assistant Ecologist you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of ecology projects and programmes of work from inception to completion. This is a permanent role with options for remote, hybrid and flexible working and we are open to full time or part time applicants. With projects throughout the country, a head office in Stockport and regional workspaces in London, Derbyshire, and on the east-coast of England, we are flexible on location.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Completing and delivering ecological surveys
- Supporting fee proposals and tenders
- Supporting the production of written reports including PEA, BNG, EcIAs
- Engaging with clients and sub-contractors
Requirements: It’s really important to us that we find people that will thrive at Envance. We are looking for people that have the following attributes:
- Self-starter, keen to develop professionally and use initiative to find solutions
- Takes pride in quality written work
- Experience completing ecological surveys
- Desire to work towards a protected species licence and/or a specific area of ecological expertise
- Willingness to participate in tendering and preparing fee proposals
- A relevant degree and applied professional experience
- Associate or full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or appetite to achieve this.
- GIS software skills in ARCGIS or QGIS
- Have a full UK driving licence.
