We’re looking for a Site Fabricator / Welder to join our Engineering team based at our Colwick site. In this role, you’ll support the maintenance and reliability of site plant equipment and Enva container stock through high-quality fabrication, welding, and repair work. Working within a busy industrial environment, you’ll play a key role in supporting both reactive and planned maintenance activities, helping to minimise downtime and maintain safe and efficient operations across site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fabrication and welding repairs on plant equipment and container stock.
- Support planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown activities across site.
- Fabricate components including guards, brackets, wear plates, and reinforcement works.
- Carry out hard facing and repair work on plant and equipment as required.
- Support plant shutdowns, maintenance projects, and site improvement activities.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables to a high standard.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices at all times.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to support site performance.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We’re looking for a motivated and safety-conscious individual with strong fabrication and welding experience within an industrial or heavy engineering environment.
Essential
- Experience in fabrication and welding within heavy industry or a similar environment.
- MIG welding experience.
- Experience working on plant equipment, conveyors, or industrial machinery.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic Maths and English skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and shutdown work where required.
Desirable
- MMA welding experience.
- Coded welding qualifications.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience/certification.
- Previous experience within a maintenance environment.
