Description
We are recruiting for a SHEQ Manager to join our compliance team at our Bilsthorpe site.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with operational and function managers to support and drive continuous improvement and best practice in SHEQ.
Develop and support the delivery of a HSE Risk reduction plan to improve operational standards at 4 locations ensuring we achieve best practice in all aspects of safety, environmental permit compliance, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a positive safety culture that is pro-active ensuring we learn from mistakes and implement improvements at pace.
- Collaborate with the senior team to develop strong SHEQ policies and support their implementation and improvement.
- Own a robust risk reduction program and safety improvement plan, supporting the management teams roll out at all Enva Lubricants and Batteries UK locations.
- Develop, and continually improve management systems (ISO9001,14001,45001) to ensure we exceed all compliance requirements.
- Develop a robust root cause analysis and learning from events process to maximise continuous improvement and prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct regular training needs analysis and support the delivery of training to ensure all colleagues are informed and facilitated to maintain our high compliance standards.
- Maintain an internal audit schedule and lead a robust internal audit program to maintain and continually improve standards across the organisation.
- Manage and continually improve our ISO management systems.
- Act as SHEQ stakeholder and lead on large capital and investment projects.
- Maintenance of the divisions legal register for audit purposes and horizon planning
Leadership
- Develop a high performing team culture.
- Provide strong leadership for SHEQ team.
- Set clear objectives and targets for SHEQ team, ensure regular reviews.
- Accountable for the performance management and development of employees within defined area of responsibility. Developing Individual training Plans to help support the needs of the business.
- Responsible for all aspects of resource management within defined area of responsibility, including planning, resourcing and recruitment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required
- NEBOSH General certificate.
- PIEMA
- Industry SHEQ experience is essential.
- Experience working within ISO9001,ISO45001 & ISO14001 management systems
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department.
- Positive and motivated with flexible and adaptable attitude.
- Proactive and safety focused approach.
- An ability to drive/develop the department/business to be best practice standard.
- Hands on and methodical, organised with attention to detail.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively and to plan and manage own agenda.

- WAMITAB Level 4 (4TMH or 4TSH or HROC 6 and 4a).

- Experience working with / interacting with regulators (HSE / Environment Agency)
- Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
