Enva is a specialist recycling and reuse company focusing on refrigerators and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). We pride ourselves on innovative recycling solutions, ensuring environmental sustainability through efficient waste management.
We are looking for a Reactive Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team in Grantham. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide variety of plant machinery used in recycling operations, with a focus on reactive and planned preventive maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a hands‑on, production‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance levels.
- Overhaul, adapt, and carry out improvements on existing machinery.
- Mechanically biased role with some electrical work involved.
- Replace bearings, inspect compressors, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding tasks.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the plant and suggest new methods and procedures.
- Complete all documentation to a high standard.
- Carry out basic facility and site service maintenance as needed.
- Ensure effective teamwork and adopt a flexible, first‑time‑right approach.
This is not an exhaustive list. You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in to meet the requirements of this role.
Job Requirements
- Full‑time role based in Grantham.
- Competitive salary.
- 12‑hour shifts.
- 24/7 operation, 4 on 4 off shift pattern 6‑6 days.
- This position can be days or nights.
- Work environment is predominantly in a warehouse or processing facility.
- Regular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Mechanical bias with Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year mechanical experience, preferably in hydraulics عمل, pneumatics, conveyors, and general plant machinery.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment, ideally with experience in a recycling plant or similar industry.
- A flexible, team‑oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to different tasks and shifts as required.
- Knowledge in continuous improvement and new working methods.
- Flexibility required for covering other shifts when needed.
