We're looking for a proactive and experienced
Night Shift Supervisor to lead our overnight operations within our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
You'll be responsible for supervising a team of operatives, ensuring the safe and efficient processing of recyclable materials, and maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and compliance throughout the night shift.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll oversee plant operations, coordinate daily activities, and work closely with maintenance and management teams to ensure production targets are achieved while promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of operatives, allocating work and providing coaching and support throughout the shift.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture by carrying out safety briefings, ensuring correct PPE is worn, and identifying and reporting hazards.
- Monitor the performance of plant and equipment, coordinating with the maintenance team to minimise downtime and resolve operational issues.
- Oversee the sorting and processing of recyclable materials, ensuring output quality meets required standards and contamination is minimised.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the facility to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Record shift performance, production figures, incidents, and equipment issues, providing clear handovers to the day shift.
- Monitor productivity and recovery rates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and team performance.
- Ensure all company policies, environmental requirements, and operational procedures are followed at all times.
