The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our plant and equipment are safe and running efficiently, optimising Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across our sites in Wesley Street and Whetstone. You will also be a champion of Health & Safety (H&S), responsible for maintaining our facilities, supporting mobile plant operations, and completing the Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) schedule for all plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily: Ensure the health and safety of all personnel and visitors on-site, adhering to all company procedures. Encourage and monitor near-miss reporting across operations and ensure feedback is provided. Report all accidents and incidents promptly. Conduct dynamic risk assessments as required. Maintain site-wide fire-fighting detection equipment. Conduct plant audits for both mobile and static equipment. Ensure daily PPMs are carried out, taking appropriate action as required.
- Weekly: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety rules. Perform weekly plant audits. Support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects as required. Complete weekly PPMs across all sites and equipment.
- Monthly: Complete and submit monthly PPMs across all sites and equipment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Technical Competencies: Proven experience in a production environment, particularly in fast-moving continuous or batch processing with heavy industrial equipment and automation. Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively across all levels of the business. Excellent planning and organisational skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Demonstrated ability in technical and practical problem-solving.
- Behavioural Competencies: Process-driven with a strong initiative, consistently seeking to improve operations. Proactive, flexible, and adaptable in response to changing demands and priorities. Tenacious and self-motivated, with a relentless focus on achieving results.
- Desirable Expertise: Experience in a similar or heavy manufacturing industry. Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining 5S methodology.
