The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

This is a hands-on supervisory role in a busy recycling environment. You will support day-to-day site operations, allocate work, monitor performance, drive housekeeping standards, and ensure health, safety and compliance requirements are met.

You will work closely with operations, maintenance, health and safety, HR, contractors, agencies and suppliers. Support may also be required at Whetstone and Sunningdale sites when needed.

Working hours are 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional hours required in line with business needs, including alternate Saturdays, weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture on site.
  • Ensure company policies and H&S requirements are followed.
  • Report and investigate hazards, near misses, accidents and incidents.
  • Allocate daily tasks to yard staff and coordinate site activity.
  • Liaise with MRF and maintenance teams to support smooth operations.
  • Drive housekeeping standards and complete site audits.
  • Support team briefings, training, morale and performance management.
  • Ensure input materials match waste transfer notes.
  • Cover weighbridge and mobile plant duties when required.
  • Manage agency administration and check invoice accuracy.
  • Support EMS, FPP, fire, compliance and safety checks.
  • Prepare attendance and mobile plant bonus information for approval.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Valid Loading Shovel or/and 360 Excavator licence is desirable.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Good communication and planning skills.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft applications.
  • Production or operational experience.
  • Strong health and safety awareness.
  • Proactive, flexible and self-motivated.
  • Able to solve practical and technical problems.
  • Experience in waste, recycling, heavy manufacturing or fast-moving processing environments.
  • Able to work in a busy, hands-on and changing operational environment.
