The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

To plan day to day effective and efficient routes for EESW vehicle fleet to maximise waste volumes collected and minimise operational costs. Using planning software and own knowledge, produce routes which are achievable / feasible whilst maximising resource utilisation and considering legal restrictions. Plan effective routes to meet customer expectations and service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day transport planning operations ensuring operational and customer requirements are met to agreed parameters.
  • Production of daily KPIs to show volumes and efficiencies.
  • Conduct planning assessments including performance reviews to highlight potential operational improvements.
  • Assist in the review and development of the company transport strategy to incorporate growth.
  • Support the National Fleet Compliance Manager (NFCM) with regard to vehicle maintenance and driver training requirements in line with the company Operator licence requirements.
  • Operate planning software to produce effective and efficient routes.
  • Plan routes within legal limits and driver working time.
  • Maximise effectiveness of available vehicle and driver resource.
  • Review accuracy of incoming customer orders for logistical efficiency.
  • Working with the customer service department, review customer orders, priority orders and SLAs.
  • Produce and review all driver schedules and collection paperwork on a daily basis.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required

  • Good geographical knowledge of mainland UK.
  • Experience of planning using automated routing TMS software such as Paragon, Optrak or similar.
  • Customer service experience / experience of meeting customer expectations.
  • An understanding of Operator Licence obligations and regulations.
  • Experience of producing KPIs and reports on a regular basis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong telephone manner.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Positive and motivated with flexible and adaptable attitude.
  • Problem solving and solution focussed ability.
  • Well organised and self-disciplined with the ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department.
  • Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations and / or systems.
  • A flexible attitude to the team’s work, including a willingness to reprioritise and undertake additional tasks if required.
  • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.

Desirable

  • Experience working within waste industry most desirable, however, alternate industries with relevant experience will be considered.
