The Class 2 Driver/Operative will support transport and site operations at the Duncrue facility through the safe operation of site vehicles and tankers. The role involves driving a small tipping trailer, operating a 40ft water tanker using a shunter, and supporting site-based operational duties when not driving. The role is essential to maintaining site efficiency, compliance, and safe movement of materials and liquids.
Location: Irish Waste, 116 – 120 Duncrue Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim, BT3 9AR
Key Responsibilities- Driving & Transport Operations
- Safely operate Class 2 vehicles in line with road traffic legislation and company procedures.
- Drive and manoeuvre a small tipping trailer and 40ft water tanker using a shunter.
- Carry out vehicle movements on-site and between designated locations as required.
- Vehicle Checks & Compliance
- Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reports.
- Ensure vehicles are operated safely and kept clean and roadworthy.
- Comply with tachograph, working time, and transport regulations.
- Site & Operational Support
- Support site operations when not driving, including yard and operational duties.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and positioning vehicles safely on-site.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, Environmental, and transport procedures.
- Use PPE at all times as required.
- Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Essential
- Full Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Valid CPC and digital tachograph card.
- Experience driving articulated or large vehicles.
- Experience operating a shunter or willingness to be trained.
- Good understanding of transport and site safety.
- Reliable with strong attendance and timekeeping.
- Desirable
- Experience driving tankers or tipping trailers.
- Experience working in waste, industrial, or environmental services.
- Additional plant or site operational experience.
