Description:
Recycling Operator: Be proficient in operating all machinery and plant essential to the business unit, ensuring their safe and efficient use. The main duties of the role will include working on a production line picking contamination from recyclable goods from the picking line. Manual labour/general tidying around the yard or picking station. This role is very physically demanding, so must be fit and healthy, requires you to be on your feet all day. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience within a labouring environment is desirable but not essential. Work ethic is very key, and this will be monitored frequently by site supervisors. Conduct daily and weekly checks on machinery and plant. Perform lubrication and greasing as needed to maintain operational standards. Promptly record and report any defects or breakdowns to ensure timely resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Reporting: Accurately report daily production output and any downtime to the Operations Manager for review and action.
- Work Environment: Maintain a safe and organized workspace, ensuring walkways and emergency exits are free of obstructions. Always use the appropriate safety equipment and PPE.
- Incident Reporting: Non-conforming wastes or contamination delivered to the site. Accidents, incidents, near-misses, environmental hazards, and health.
