Load Shovel / Machine Operator – 4on 4off
Operational Duties
- Machinery & Plant Operation: Be proficient in operating all machinery and plant essential to the business unit, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe and organized workspace, ensuring walkways and emergency exits are free of obstructions. Always use the appropriate safety equipment and PPE.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report non-conforming wastes or contamination delivered to the site. Accidents, incidents, near-misses, environmental hazards, and health & safety breaches to the relevant manager.
- Continuous Improvement: Undertake necessary training to expand capabilities, including the operation of additional machinery or equipment. Conduct random checks and audits on machinery under your remit to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Flexibility & Business Continuity: Cover other operational roles as needed to ensure the continuity of business activities. Engage in manual handling tasks to assist with waste management activities.
- Health & Safety: Take responsibility for personal health and safety, as well as that of colleagues potentially affected by your work actions. Actively identify and report unsafe conditions to foster a safe workplace culture. Adhere to the company’s management systems, safe systems of work, and legal requirements.
