As a General Operative at ENVA, based in Grantham, you will play a key role in the recycling and processing of Small Domestic Appliances and fridges. You will be responsible for handling, sorting, dismantling, and preparing electronic waste and refrigeration units for further recycling or disposal, adhering to safety and environmental regulations. This position contributes to ENVA's sustainability efforts by promoting efficient waste management and recycling practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Sorting materials such as televisions, computers, mobile phones, fridges, and other electronic devices to ensure they are directed to the correct recycling streams.
- Safely dismantle electronic equipment, including fridges, removing components like cables, circuit boards, batteries, and refrigerants for proper recycling.
- Operate shredding, baling, and other processing machinery, ensuring proper and efficient operation to maximise recycling output.
- Inspect and assess incoming SDA materials and fridges to ensure compliance with recycling standards and company requirements.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly those relating to the handling of refrigeration units. Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Work closely with other team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets, supporting overall operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment, ensuring work areas are free of hazards.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in a recycling or waste management environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to recycling.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in dismantling electronic equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to operate machinery or willingness to be trained.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Job Requirements
- Full-time role based in Grantham.
- 39.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with every fourth Saturday required to meet operational needs. OT available).
- £13.05 /hr for 6am-2pm.
