Enva Recycling Scotland is seeking a Yard Operative in Glenrothes to ensure the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Transfer station (Yard) under the direction of the Operations Manager and yard supervisor. The work involves sorting through various waste materials manually and mechanically along with site housekeeping duties and some basic general preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the yard operations are managed in line with Health and Safety legislation and Enva standards.
- Ensure all duties (recycling, inspections and cleaning) are carried out and recorded as per company and manufacturer instructions and procedures.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the yard in accordance with site licence and contractual conditions.
- Sort and separate waste types to ensure plant performance is at its highest.
- Maintain the highest cleanliness of all working areas.
- Ensure that the machines are maintained in a clean condition.
- Report any defect affecting the safe working order of a machine immediately.
- Ensure that the correct Personal Protective Equipment, as provided by the Company, is worn at all times.
- Remain aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of your work colleagues.
- Carry out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required.
- Ensure compliance with all company work practices as directed.
- Operate mobile plant and other plant equipment safely and competently where trained, instructed and qualified to do so.
- Assist with the general operations as required and instructed.
